Public bug reported:

After update from 18.04 to 20.04 sound stopped working.
KDE does not display Xonar sound card at all.

$ aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
does not make any sound

Alsamixer displays Xonar set at full volume but changing anything there
does not seem to have any effect.

Moving/deleting the pulse config (  ~/.config/pulse/ ) and restarting
machine did not have any effect.

Running:
$ sudo alsa force-reload
fixes the issue (until restart sound is back, and is displayed properly in KDE)

(data arecord and cards display same data before and after restart)
$ arecord -l
