Title: udev does not read LINK files dynamically Status in systemd package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hello all, To comply to SystemD's way of thinking, NIC names can be changed assuming my MAC addresses. I have then changed /etc/systemd/10-net.link assuming the nomenclature in https://www.freedesktop.org/software/systemd/man/systemd.link.html. Expected behavior: When restart, changes can be taken into account and NIC names changed, just like udev udev raw rules in /etc/udev/rules.d. Got: NIC names not changed. However: whane re-updating initramfs ( # update-initramfs -u ), it works. Question: why is udev not reading SystemD link files directly in the root FS, but is able to read udev rules.d files ?
