Thanks for the bug report. It appears the problem is that no EDID can be
read from the VGA port, which means the driver does not know what kind
of monitor is connected and what resolution to use:

To find out if this is a Xorg problem or a general kernel problem please
run:

  grep . /sys/class/drm/*/modes > drmmodes.txt

and then attach the resulting text file here.

To avoid the problem completely, try to use digital monitor connections
only (DisplayPort, DVI or HDMI).

  i recently installed XDM (xtreme download manager) after my display
