Title: Bash search history vi-mode hang the process Status in bash package in Ubuntu: New Bug description: Hi, Since a couple of weeks I found my self frustrated. I usually use bash -o vi and use vi commands on the command line. To search bask in the history i type 'Esc+/' and after thtat the search string e.g. 'Esc+/python3' Above search hangs the bash process with heave CPU usage and I need to kill it.
