The gesture for opening the hidden launcher in Unity 7 is a four-finger horizontal swipe (see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Multitouch for more gestures). This works well on all of my test hardware.
We have no plans to retrofit Unity 8 UI designs onto Unity 7. ** Changed in: unity (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Won't Fix ** Changed in: unity Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Touch seeded packages, which is subscribed to unity in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1187896 Title: Launcher cannot be reached in 'auto-hide' mode with Touchscreen Status in Unity: Won't Fix Status in “unity” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Ubuntu 13.04, 3.8.0-24-generic When launcher is in 'auto-hide' mode, it appears to be inaccessible when solely using Touchscreen input to slide, or even tap, the farthest edge of the screen (whether left, or top-left is selected). I've adjusted the sensitivity all the way down to the Highest, but it still does not appear. Instead, it appears to hold focus on whatever application is currently on top. In the situation where no apps are open/near the hotspot, it is assumed I am either simply tapping the desktop, or attempting to drag-highlight a group selection instead. It should be noted that the cursor appears on the far edge, as I would expect typical mouse behavior to emulate bringing the Launcher into view.
