  I have disabled the touchpad through settings, but that has no effect

  I'm running Ubuntu 21.10 on a laptop

  Ubuntu-settings is V 21.10.4

  Disabling the touchpad on my new laptop has no effect.

  The only way to disable the touchpad was to install Touchpad-indicator
