Public bug reported: My device is connected to a university wireless network. There are numerous beacons, and my device regularly roams between them. However, when this happens, I experience a wireless disconnect.
Upon further investigation (see attached log), it appears that this is because the DHCP lease is being refreshed, resulting in a new IP which breaks existing connections. I think the following bug on the NetworkManager repository describes the same issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/merge_requests/1263 I am on Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS, with NM version 1.36.6-0ubuntu2. This issue is not fixed until later versions of NM, which are not available in the Ubuntu package repositories. Can this fix be backported? I'm surprised that I haven't seen others reporting this issue, given that I imagine many others are on similar corporate networks.
