There are multiple ways to cut down the initramfs size: Do your devices has a dedicated nvidia graphics card? If not, you could remove the nvidia drivers and cut the initramfs size by half.
The zstd compression is faster, but xz produces smaller files. So setting COMPRESS=xz will reduce the initramfs size for you. My test showed a reduction from 203 MB to 153 MB (and build time increase from 7 to 22 seconds). Setting COMPRESS=xz and COMPRESSLEVEL=9 will reduce the size further.
