Title:
g_critical hit when datetime indicator first shown

Status in The Date and Time Indicator:

Status in indicator-datetime source package in Raring:
  Won't Fix

Bug description:
Reported by desrt in Oakland with Valgrind.

The issue is that menu_visible_notify_cb() unconditionally attempts to
update the idocalendar widget even if that widget hasn't been created
yet due to its async creation.

This generates g_criticals and results in uninitialized memory being
  referenced.
