The part where it "wouldn't respond to taps" suggests there something more than just the edges going awry.

I had to hard reboot by long pressing the power button. when confirmation came up to poweroff, it wouldn't respond. so I had to hold the power button for a long time to force it off <jdstrand> kgunn: I had been living with this for a couple of weeks nad it was very frustrating-- then I saw that bug about input that was on the list (kgunn pretty sure this means bug 1295623 ) , subscribed to it, and it seemed fixed when it hit the images.
