Can you attach https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems#Capturing_print_job_data from evince to see whether that is already broken.

I have a Canon iP4950 printer with gutenprint drivers (Canon PIXMA iP4900 - CUPS+Gutenprint v5.2.9). I can print a test page fine, but when I try and print a PDF from evince it fails silently with a success message. Following the instructions from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingPrintingProblems I have generated some log output which I am attaching. I'm also attaching the original PDF that I am trying to print (a web page that I exported using 'print to file').
