We have a newly-accepted temporary fork of system-image in the archive for snappy, system-image-snappy, which diverges from system-image due to changes that cannot be merged until system-image 3.0 lands (unlikely to happen before vivid release). As this package is seeded in the ubuntu- core images, it's also warranted for it to go through the MIR process.
