Bug #1455567 was meant to work around the fact that the shell wasn't
doing the rotation. It was just a content rotation done by the app. Now
that the shell is doing the "right" thing, that work around is
responsible for the aliasing we're seeing. I'm proposing a patch.

Title:
UbuntuShape rendering broken after rotating device to landscape and
  back to portrait

Status in ubuntu-ui-toolkit package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
Steps to reproduce: in any app that has a TextField, rotate the device
to landscape, then back to portrait, and observe how the rendering of
  the TextField is pixelated/aliased.

This is particularly visible in the browser app, but can be observed
e.g. in the messaging app too. I’m attaching a screenshot that shows
  the issue in the browser.
