Since the Touch and the Vortexbox would be in the same room... I would get a cheap hub and connect them to each other.
Then do a homeplug to get back upstairs, depending on how well wireless worked. But connecting a Touch and Vortexbox is easy.. the 'hard' part is getting the two of them back to the 'net' for Radio and CD lookups when ripping.
