My SB Touch arrived at the office yesterday. It fired up nicely with a
wired connection to my router and downloaded the current firmware. I
inserted an 8GB SDHC card with music content. Worked very nicely.
Then I removed the ethernet connection and ran it standalone with an
analog connection to my office mini-system. I liked the nice digital
clock in "off" mode. It was automatically set to the right time! I
pulled the SD card to see what new cache files had been created. Then
put the SD card back.

I unplugged the Touch and brought it to my apartment, where I have no
internet service (apart from possibly sponging from a neighbor's
wireless network). Surprisingly, it took a little fooling around to
get the Touch going. But there's no more digital clock. I tried
selecting the various clock "screen-savers" for the "stopped" or "off"
cases. No joy. Sometime a "sample" clock would come up, but not
showing the correct time or date.

Very curious. User error or system/hardware design?
