If you are on windows you can use flac front end to have a interface.

dBpoweramp music converter, thats a good program.

And foobar2000 I supose.

For reconverting flacs and wavs i already have i use "terminal" yes a
command prompt or soundconverter (I'm on Ubuntu ) .

Ripping is another topic I of-course use FLAC for my 16/44.1 too

But as phil said they all use the same flac.exe or flac.dll in the
background.

Just try have the newest one, so you don't end up with an ancient
version.

Or why not visit the http://flac.sourceforge.net/ homepage to grab some
info.
