I am an audiophile on a budget, so I have opted for using Duet with an external DAC (Beresford Caiman), instead of going with the much more expensive Transport. Some reports claim that Beresford Caiman can match (and even surpass) the DAC that Transport internally uses.
However, what is not clear to me is whether the Transport is a better 'transport' for digital signal than Duet or Touch. I am pretty certain that Beresford Caiman is a better DAC than the one that is shipping inside the Touch. What I'm asking here is should I consider replacing my Duet as a 'transport' with Touch? Is Touch a better transport than Duet? Keep in mind that, regardless of whether I upgrade Duet or not, I will be keeping my Beresford Caiman as an external DAC, and will bypass whatever the internal DAC may be. Also, I am not at all interested in convenience (don't care about the user interface, pretty pictures, touch or wheel etc.), only interested in improving the sound. -- magiccarpetride ------------------------------------------------------------------------ magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=78128 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
