Can the Seagate Go Portable be powered by an ac/dc adaptor or powered USB Hub? If not, there is a good chance that the Touch will not be able to power the USB.
I have a 2.5" USB that is powered by an ac/dc adaptor and I'm able to play my FLAC's without any major problems.
