It doesn't need the internet per se. It does need a wireless access point. The easiest way to do this is a wireless router. It doesn't even need to be connected to anything, it just needs to be there. Both the ipod Touch and the Squeezebox Touch are wireless network clients, they need a wireless network "master" (called an access point) to connect to. The SBTouch can connect to the router either wireless or wired. If you don't already have a wireless router and you will not be connecting the SBTouch to the internet probably the easiest way to go is get a cheap little wirless router, put it near the SBTouch and run a short ethernet cable between the two. You CAN run both Touches wireless but if the router is right next to the Touch you are better off going wired.
