Glad you are enjoying the Touch. Sorry if it seemed like I was commenting on your setup as I wasn't. I was just typing in general because your post reminded me of my thoughts on digital cables. I wouldn't have the Kimber D-60 if I didn't have my Dodson DA-217 MK2-D Digital Processor (was used between Dodson and Esoteric CD Transport). I tried it with my Transporter and Touch but don't use it with any of my Touch units.
