No, it's obviously not a high priority. What happens any time something like this is requested, no matter how simple or how universal the appeal, _someone_ has some objection, and the idea is then debated, sometimes for years. Eventually someone suggests that the behavior should be made configurable in order to satisfy everyone, even if those objecting represent a small fraction of users. The developers hate implementing additional options and the marketer people are convinced that they make the product too complicated for users.
