Which "ready NAS" there is a lot of models ? from glacially slow to quite good ? :)
Note the Squeezeboxserver 7.5.x or better is needed (sugest 7.5.2 official is 7.5.1). Here is the 3rd party hardware forum http://forums.slimdevices.com/forumdisplay.php?f=18 Where most things NAS and homebuilt servers is discussed . I also recommend you to try the search functions this is a very popular question . http://forums.slimdevices.com/search.php "Slow" is very personal and subjective and can depend on file formats size of collection, album artwork plugins etc. It is usually the web-UI that takes the largest performance hit. With a Touch it is handling of large playlists and updating artwork on screens that will suffer most in my experience . There is some things a non x86 machine can't do like transcoding. -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH and assorted amps SiriuS, Classe' Primare and Dynadio speakers, Contour 4 Contour Center, and Contour 1.3SE rear ch.
