iPeng also has a landscape mode, yes.

Apart from that: well, you can carry around an iPod and you can't carry
around a SB Touch...

I'm obviously biased (I'm the author of iPeng) but I still think purely
as a controller iPeng is more suited, you usually don't want to walk up
to your controller. Scrolling long lists also is much better here since
iPeng does have an A-Z index while you still have to scroll on the SB
Touch, it does accelerate but it's still scrolling.

There are cases, though, where I, too, use the SB Touch itself: I have
one wall-mounted in my bathroom and there it's perfect: I'm never too
far away and I usually don't have any remotes lying around there. Plus
you can use it well with wet fingers.

So in places where you are always really next to it it's a good choice
simply because you know where it is and it's immediately accessible
while, well you know how it is with mobile devices, they are always in
the other room.
