Thanks, I should have thought of that. It makes a lot more sense to me now.
I'm also skeptical about any audible differences, but at least one of the many forum members who has A5s (I'm not one of them) could probably answer the question about whether or not the dedicated USB charger still gets power when the A5s go into standby mode.
