I had the same problem with 7.6.1 - scanning after upgrading failed. Art covers around 70% and server crashed. I have over 12000 music files and 1500 covers. I downgraded to 7.5.4 and it was OK.
- I checked all the cover jpgs - they are all non-progressive. - I hidden several folders (with "."), now there are around 7500 music files and 900 art covers. - I upgraded (online) to 7.6.1 again I have had no problems so far - scanning was OK, adding new files OK, playing OK.
