Does any of them:
1. Also offer a player which is cheap and small with built-in speaker
which is suitable for placement in kitchen/bedroom ?
2. Is it realistic to believe that any new player they produce two
years in the future will be compatible and usable in the same system as
the one they produce today ?

Since I want a solution that works in the whole house, it's always
questions like these which makes me believe the current competitors
applicable for my setup are Logitech, Sonos and possibly Apple.
