Can you give us a little more info on your setup. Are you running LMS on a computer? If yes what type (windows7, Mac, linux, NAS box etc) Is the computer connected to a router? If yes is it wired or wifi?
If you don't have a computer running LMS are you using a USB drive or stick plugged into the Touch? If yes is the Touch connected to a home network (again wired or wifi)? Can you play music from the Touch using its own screen? Can you play your own music either from LMS on a computer or a USB drive plugged into the Touch? Can you play internet radio? A little background on how the app on the phone and the logitech controller work, they do NOT connect directly to the Touch, they connect to a server, the server talks to the Touch. Thus the remote needs a wifi and network connection to whatever server you are using. There are three possible servers the Touch can connect to: 1) local LMS on a computer on your local network. 2) server built in to the Touch which is active when using a USB drive plugged into the Touch. This is a trimmed down version of the server. 3) MySB.com, a server "in the cloud" that Logitech maintains, its good for connecting to internet radio and streaming services such as pandora. Whichever one of these you are using the control device (phone or controller) needs to be able to get to the server. The built in server is a bit strange in this regard, the Touch's wifi cannot talk directly to the remote device, it will only connect to something like a router. So if you are using the Touch with a USB drive plugged into the Touch, the Touch also needs to be connected to a network that has wifi. The Touch can either be connected to the network with wire or wifi. The most common setup is a home wireless router, the Touch can be connected to that router with either an ethernet cable or by wifi. The remote device (phone or controller) talks to the router over wifi, the router connects it to the Touch. The problem is that both the remote and the Touch are wifi "clients", they need a "base station" to talk to. If the Touch is connected to a local computer running LMS or is connected to MySB.com you are already connected to a local network so should be able to connect to the phone or controller as long as you have some form of wifi on your network. Give us a little more info on your setup and what works and what does not and we can try and work this out.
