Maybe the input upconverts while the native cd audio doesn't. I'm not really sure why playing cd's with it would display fine while audio files won't. But I have heard of some weird quirks with components, so who knows. All I know is all of my files have always displayed correct, and I run a fairly straight LMS, without very many plug-ins or customization of settings.
