Not sure but I think the Touch is asking for an upgrade because 7.7.2 is a beta version and not an official release. The latest official release is 7.7.1. If you want to run beta software simply ignore the Touch request for 7.7.1. update.
A second reason for the Touch asking for an upgrade is that it is able to connect to mysqueezebox.com.
