Yea the server software is free ,so download it in advance . You can try to get your files scanned and sorted, but the server software by itself does not play anything, for that you need a player just like the one you ordered :) Piont is that the Touch is the player and does not depend on any audio related drivers or software on the serving PC ( the PC does not need to have any working audio at all ) totally independent of the PC , server is just sending a stream over your network to the player
But ,there is a software version called SqueezePlay that "emulates" a Touch ,that you could run on your desktop ( google and you will find ) to have a player to toy with . Note : it is somewhat buggy not as good a hardware Touch . It can't simulate conection over your network unless you install it on another pc , if you want to test your firewall software. Get yourself familiar with the software and ask more later . I do recommend the beginners guide in the wiki , you see the link at the upper rigth corner on this forum. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=96361 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
