Notethat equal volume is not having the volume on the same setting, I be very surprised if the reciever analog inputs and it's digital had the same volume out .
Use an spl meter or a voltmeter and a test signal if possible . Also figure out how your reciever really works most of them digitise all analog inputs for use with DSP and subwoofer filter .
