It may be that the Touch is not getting it's time set. It does not have an internal battery backed up clock, it keeps time via software running on the processor, but the date and time has to get set somewhow. This is normally done by connecting to an external server over the net. If the Touch can't get it's software clock set it will not display the clock because it knows for sure that the time will be incorrect.
Are you by any chance running stand alone (internal server)? If so you have a couple choices: 1) connect to an external LMS server 2) connect to mysqueezebox.com 3) SSH into the Touch and use linux commands to set the clock 4) install NTP client to get the time from an internet time server If you are connected to an external LMS then the Touch should be getting set from that server.
