Ok, I'm not totally new to this kind of solutions. Please, could you give some hints, some starting point?
In Settings/Advanced you can enable SSH ("Remote access"). Then you'll find the configuration file in /etc/squeezecenter. I'd suggest you play with the prefs on a desktop installation before you start tinkering on the device. And always keep a copy of the working file..
