I use this tweak to run my SB Touch out via USB into a Stello U2, a USB to I2S and SPDIF converter - it works perfectly.
Looking to ditch the U2 and upgrade my DAC. I have my eye on a gently used W4S DAC1 with caps upgraded to W4S DAC2 - which makes the DAC1 and DAC2 sonically the same. While the DAC2 is asynch to 24/192 and the DAC1 is asynch only to 24/96 - that is all I need for my FLAC files. In addition, the other features on the DAC2 are features I do not need, i.e., function as a preamp, home theatre remote capability, etc. I may be able to save a few shekels going with the DAC1 vs a DAC2 and not compromising sonics :-) So, my question: I noticed the W4S uDAC is on the list of DACs that work well. However, the DAC1 and DAC2 are not. Can I assume the DAC1 is "good to go" or are there issues of which I am unaware.
