DHCP Rule of Thumb: Servers: static Clients: dynamic But both can (normally) be specified in the DHCP server. So every device gets its IP address from this server (except the Gateway!). That means that the Logitech Media Server sits on a computer with a fixed IP address specified in the DHCP configuration. My Touch, Radio, SB3 all have dynamic IP-addresses. As these will register with the LMS upon start there is no need to fix these addresses and doing so will burden your administrative effort, needlessly.
