Just thought I would post this in case it might help anyone who encounters a similar problem. (Not sure whether I should post it in the Touch or LMS section though.)
Short version: The coax digital output on my Touch wasn't being accepted by one (old) DAC and when I fed it into my PC via a Focusrite Saffire and recorded the result using Audacity I found that the left channel had numerous large spikes but the right channel was perfect (very odd). The Touch's analogue output was fine. The Touch was taking its feed from LMS running on a HP Microserver (Ubuntu). Solution: I deleted and re-installed LMS Long Version: I hadn't been listening to music for a few days and then discovered that the Meridian G92 I usually feed the digital output into had developed a fault and was out of action. So I brought out of storage a Copland Amp and (out of curiosity) an old Tag Maclaren DAC20. The Touch analogue output worked fine with the Copland Amp but when (out of curiosity) I tried to feed the coax digital into the DAC20 - no joy. It took me hours of swapping the Touch with a backup Touch (which had been in storage), swapping connecting leads, power adaptors, etc. And then I changed the LMS Library to a mirror copy on my PC - and that worked OK. So, while not understanding why only one channel of the digital should be affected, I deleted 7.7.2 from the Microserver and installed 7.7.3 on that and the PC. That cured the problem. Touch, Meridian G92, Meridian G55, PMC FB1+ speakers, HP Proliant Microserver/Ubuntu, PC/Windows 7, iPad 4, iPeng, Squeezepad. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JohnB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100563 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
