I have used the Touch for over 3 years and once in awhile I have a maddening situation that I only know how to resolve by restoring factory settings (Which is a bit of a pain).
I took my SBT to Florida where I was running the SBT music Library on my Laptop. When I got hom the LMS would not recognize the SBT. Restarted Network, Rebooted Computer, had Laptop Shutoff. Unplugged SBT. No mater what I did everytime I tried to connect to 'My Music' the SBT would try to connect to the Laptop, even though it was shutoff. I have a Hardwire ethernet to the SBT. After fooling with this for a half hour, I did a Factory Reset on the SBT and then it connected to My desktop Music Library right away. Is there a simpler way to get the SBT to connect to the Music Library.
