In theory if you're using 192/24 files then yes EDO could mean a greatly
increased bandwidth is used. Without EDO your server will transcode to
96/24 but with EDO and a 192 capable DAC  you'll get the full bitrate
being sent through your network.

With files of a lesser bitrate I wouldn't expect EDO to make a
difference, having said that I don't own a Touch or a DAC capable of 192
so it's just a theory.

Would it be possible to try with the laptop only connected via Ethernet
and see if you do still get problems?
