Yes, I convert all of my 192 files to AIFF because the Touch would not
play them when they were ALAC, and I do have them on my iMac played
through iTunes, so that is also a consideration. I know there are many
other options available, but this is what I'm using at this point.

I suppose I could keep a copy of the FLAC version in my iTunes library -
the iMac wouldn't play it, but LMS would recognize it and stream it to
the Touch? And you're saying the Touch will handle processing the FLAC
file better than passing through the AIFF? 

Thank you very much for your help in all of this. New experience, and
the Mp3tag UI is certainly not welcoming to the newbie. But it certainly
works well!
