This is all about the Touch using a different library (your wife's) isn't it?
Have you considered a second Pi / LMS with this library on a separate subnet? If configured correctly then the Touch would only be able to see the LMS on that subnet and not your main one. This subnet need not have any internet connection but I suspect you would need another WiFi Access Point or Router to serve it unless your existing one is high end and capable of multiple SSIDs with different subnets.
