Just FWIW did you see @gellie was having a similar issue with his Oppo
DAC ('Why do I need to go through a series of reboots wen using EDO/USB
through OPPO 105?'

- he reports getting a connection but only after multiple reboots each
time he uses the system - have you tried multiple reboots also? Might be
worth a look at that thread if you haven't already - may have something
of use in the actions he's taking?
