The Touch as a server is possibly OK with an attached USB stick or SD
card with a very small library. (Try it).

Attaching a 2TB drive with even a moderate size library will end in
tears, the Touch doesn't have the guts, constantly crashing and then
needs to re-scan the music files which can take hours, you wouldn't be
able to play music during the scan.

You have been advised elsewhere to run LMS on a Raspberry Pi, I would
second that, superb!

*Server - LMS 8.0.0 *Pi4B 4GB/Flirc case/pCP 6.1.0 18K library,
playlists & LMS cache on SSD (ntfs)
*Study -* Pi3B+/pCP 5.0.0/pi screen/HiFiBerry DAC+/jivelite,
*Lounge* - Pi2/pCP 5.0.0 > HiFiBerry DIGI+ > AudioEngine DAC1 > AVI DM5
*Dining Room* - Squeezebox Boom
*Garage* - Squeezebox Touch > Edifier R980T

*Spares* - 1xTouch, 1xSB3, 1xRadio, 7xRPi
