I second active speakers. I bought a ex-demo pair of Acoustic Energy AE1's and the sound is absolutely stunning, as all the 5 star reviews suggest. They give you four 50w amplifiers, active crossover and bi-amped ceramic cones in gorgeous emclosure's. All you will need is a pair of interconnects from the Touch and you are good to go. No way you could put together a pre-amp, amplifier and speakers of that quality for the price. Simple. elegant, compact, wife friendly and you can listen all day (I do!) without getting fatigued.
