Even if we had something like "component leads", what would anyone need this information for? All communication should happen over open channels such as the ticket system, the mailing lists, IRC, etc. I'm strongly against any kind of formal component/code ownership in open-source projects, where someone would have to ask someone else whether he can check in code for some component.
