I've just made some effort in translating Trac to Swedish. The first
attempts were made with my "favourite text editor", but then Christian
discovered some flaws ;) and recommended a language tool "msgfmt"
which however is not available on a Windows system. (There is a very
simple version of "msgfmt" available in my Python installation, but
it's not good enough).

I then started to do some digging and discovered poedit (http://
www.poedit.net/), which I also found mentioned on the historical page
about L10N on Trac (http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracL10N/
DesignNotes).

I've found poedit to be very powerful (well, compared to my "favourite
text editor" anyhow), but since the link to poedit is not part of the
current information about L10N (http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/
TracL10N) I am wondering if there is something with this tool that
makes it inappropriate for translating .po-files for Trac?

Otherwise I think it could be a good idea to point newbie-translators,
such as myself, to this tool on the L10N page.

What do you think?
