Dear Trac Users,

After much waiting, Trac 0.12 is now going through the final steps before release!

You can download Trac-0.12b1 from the usual place (http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/TracDownload#LatestBeta) or install it via setuptools (easy_install Trac==0.12b1).

Don't forget to also install Babel 0.9.5 if you want to enjoy using Trac in your language (but it's not a mandatory requirement, Trac still works without it).

On the other hand, Genshi 0.6 is a mandatory requirement, so install it first (if you're using easy_install, that will happen automatically).

Don't be abused by the "beta1" tag, as for some times we hesitated to call it "rc1", as the thing is pretty much finalized ;-) Nevertheless, as usual, don't forget to make a backup before upgrading, and take the time to read the TracUpgrade notes and the TracInstall notes. If all goes well and we receive good testing feedback, the rc1 will follow in a few weeks and 0.12 will be release by end of May. So please help us make it happen by testing the beta1 now!

Many thanks to the growing number of people who have, and continue to,
support the project. Also our thanks to all people providing feedback and
bug reports that helps us making Trac better, easier to use and more
effective.

Without your invaluable help, Trac would not evolve. Thank you all.

Finally, we offer hope that Trac will prove itself useful to like-minded
programmers around the world, and that this release will prove an
improvement over the last version.

Please let us know. :-)
