Sorry, but at work I'm still with IE6, upgrade IE7 "already" looming at
the corner, for next 6 months or so. You get a picture? Trac is the only
really up-to-date, if not bleeding edge software there, and I'm not in
charge for anything else. I'll be not allowed to use other than the
officially installed software (browser = IE7) for the next 1 1/2 years,
and I'm about to deploy 0.12 in a number of applications. If you're so
keen as to decide even IE8 is obsolete, I may have a harder time with
anything beyond Trac 0.12.

Loosing some almost obsolete code from trunk is a good thing. Most Trac
users will go on happily. But somebody bits the dust. Already living
with some bugs layer mis-rendering in ticket view and user permission
admin interface, this discussion sounds not like a bright future.

I really don't mean to stop you from great UI enhancements, but don't go
too far off-ground. Commercial environments tend to be managed very,
very conservative, at least, if admin tend to show off by selling
deployment lag as added security, and if CEO's buying this, but they
tend to do so.
