Hi,

a collegue of mine created a plugin, which should organize our
budgeting. Basically for each ticket you are able to enclose 1...n
budget-informations.

Example:
Ticket #1234: Fix a problem
Person - Task - Estimation - Actual Cost - Remarks
Person x - Implementation - 16 hours - 18 hours - implementing DB
Person y - Implementation - 16 hours - 12 hours - implementing WA
Person z - Specification - 5 hours - 3 hours - making strategy paper

We made a new table with appropiate columns. The problem is, that we
could not directly connect it with table ticket, since we do not know
if if there the ticket is valid and therefore we do not know the
ticket id beforehand.

The solution of my collegue was that we stored a custom ticket with a
mathc of budget id to ticket id. But I found this very unconfortable
and "ugly" (in a sense of progamming and datamodel).

The other option would have been to make it like attachments - with a
link to add the budget information afterwards, but this is also not a
nice way to enter the information (to say it short: the management
dislike this way).

Is there any other way to get the ticket id? Or is this feature just
missing?
Should I just wait until the redisgn (http://trac.edgewall.org/wiki/
GenericTrac and in discussion
http://groups.google.de/group/trac-dev/browse_thread/thread/936d12a87f3a877b/846f3ed5c0b7731a?hl=de&lnk=gst&q=ticket+id+before+create#846f3ed5c0b7731a)
has been done?

Thanks in advance.

Regards, Franz
