Why do (think that you) require quotes in the link markup at all? I think that I tested for several reasons at least with single quotes some time ago. It is a feature, that you could have almost _any_ label text you want, right? And if you don't need/want quoted labels, than just write [Sandbox the sandbox] to get the label "the sandbox" instead. It works for more special chars too, like German Umlauts, so I see no reason, why not for you too, but I may just miss your point.?
