Maybe you can work with permissions instead?

Add a special permission, which is required for all actions, and
which is only ever assigned to a session by your plugin.

If dynamically assigning permissions is currently not possible,
perhaps that could be a useful idea also for other purposes.

I would certainly do whatever it takes to avoid duplicating the whole
ticketing system. That seems completely unneccessary.
